THE LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN – I have visited TLGoH several times both alone and with friends and family over the years. It’s an intriguing place to visit and spans a very large area, so much so that it’s recommended that you spend all day there or go twice to take in all that’s on offer.
As you arrive, they have a well-stocked café area serving a variety foods and drinks for either breakfast or lunch and a gift shop for you to explore. From there you have a choice of directions to take. There are the productive grounds with the walled flower gardens and interesting greenhouses both well-tended, the pleasure grounds with fountains and ponds etc. The jungle with the rope bridge (a favourite with adults and kids) and the estate where you’ll find wildlife, woodlands, and the farm.
In the woods there is the amazing sleeping lady, cleverly made from stone and a feature of LGoH. On the farm you’ll find all sorts of animals including Sheep, Pigs, Horses, Cows, Goats, Chickens, Ducks, Geese and Turkeys.
I’ve shown just a few of the photos I took in 2016 and 2018. Unfortunately, I can’t find the ones I took in 2021, that included the sleeping lady, so you’ll just have to go and find her yourself and explore the rest of this amazing attraction. .
