Smallholding at Barfield
Cherry Tree Cottage and our house next door are sited on our 35-acre working smallholding.
On our smallholding we have our four horses (no longer ridden) at our stables across the road and spread around our fields we have a flock of Southdown rare breed sheep that we breed from. A delight to see in Springtime during the lambing season.
In addition to our horses and sheep, we also keep and breed rare-breed Chickens and Call-Ducks. They are generally an attraction for both young and older guests especially at feeding and egg collecting time.
In 2017 we teamed up with our neighbour (a former beekeeper) and set about setting up a honeybee apiary. Please go to our Bees at Barfield page for a more in-depth storey and some pictures.
